A few days ago Standards of Organization of Nigeria (SON) warned the substandard electrical wire and cable had flowed into markets.
The official Serah Idowu said there were fake cables in most of markets which would imperil more and more people’s life and property.
Idowu pointed out there was just one company’s electrical cables passed all tests and inspections in 24 companies.
Idowu stated briefly if the companies do not withdraw and stop producing disqualified wires and cables the list of 23 companies would be made public.
After the meeting the unqualified cables will be confiscated and the companies have to pay 1 million Nigerian naira to treasury single account for the costs of destroying non-conforming cables.
